TfL Cancels Plans for Changes to Fulham Bus Routes

Routes 11 and 22 will stay the same and new route 311 will not be introduced

Transport for London has cancelled plans to change bus routes 11 and 22, both serving Fulham and to introduce a new route 311.

In October last year, TfL launched a public consultation on is Central London Bus Services Review, whch it said would modernise the network by adapting underused and inefficient services in central London that contribute to congestion and the damaging effects of air pollution.

Proposals for our area were to:

  • Introduce a new route, the 311 between Fulham Broadway and Oxford Circus via King's Road and Victoria station
  • Change route 11 so it would no longer run between Fulham Town Hall and Victoria station
  • Routes N11, N19 and N22 would remain unchanged, although route N11 would be renumbered N311 to better reflect the day service, as it would not run to Oxford Circus.

However, TfL has now published an analysis of the feedback it received in the consultation,  and while most of its proposals remain unchanged, it concluded, "Some of the proposed changes risked disproportionately affecting areas of London with fewer transport options, or where there were too many additional interchanges required to complete journeys.

" As a result, TfL has decided not to go ahead with proposed alterations to routes 11, 19, and 22. The addition of new route 311, proposed to mitigate changes to these routes, will therefore now not be going ahead."

Chelsea and Fulham MP Greg Hands, who launched a petition to keep the bus routes as they were, which was signed by over 1,300 residents, said," This is amazing news, and it is thanks to every constituent who submitted a response during the public consultation and signed my petition. It has been a real community effort."
