Putney Bridge Bus Stand to Close for Six Weeks

Buses will stop instead on Putney Bridge Approach

Putney Bridge bus stand will be closed from Monday July 20 while Transport for London (TfL) and Thames Water carry out works in the area.

The stand, which is located outside Putney Bridge Underground station, will be closed for six weeks.

During the closure, TfL will install toilet facilities for bus drivers at the stand and Thames Water will take the opportunity to carry out water main replacement works in the area.  TfL worked with Thames Water to ensure that both sets of works took place concurrently, so it was only necessary to close the bus stand once.

The buses affected by the closure are routes 39, 85, 93, 265, 270 and 414 all of which currently finish their journeys at Putney Bridge bus stand.  During the works they will be unable to serve Putney Bridge station, but will serve other stops on Putney Bridge Approach within a short walking distance of the station.

Transport for London say publicity has been put up at Putney Bridge bus stand to inform passengers of the location of the nearest alternative bus stops.
