The Brown Cow on Fulham Road is undergoing a major transformation, with Butcombe Group announcing plans to double the size of the premises. The redevelopment will create a larger, more social destination for eating, drinking and gathering, and which the company says reflects a growing demand for more interactive and versatile pub experiences.

Work began following the acquisition of the adjoining property, and the newly expanded pub is expected to reopen in early May. The project will significantly increase the pub’s capacity and bring additional employment opportunities to the area.

Jayson Perfect, Chief Operations Officer at Butcombe Group, said, “Guests are looking for places where they can socialise, celebrate, watch sport or enjoy activities together and this redevelopment allows us to build those experiences into the very fabric of The Brown Cow.”

The new-look Brown Cow will feature a range of social spaces, including electric shuffle boards, multiple screens for live sport and bookable areas suitable for parties, meetings and local gatherings. The interior will be refreshed to maintain the pub’s premium, characterful feel, with an enhanced bar and extended dining areas designed to reflect Butcombe Group’s focus on comfort, hospitality and high-quality food and drink.

Jayson Perfect added, “London continues to be an incredibly exciting market for us, and The Brown Cow shows exactly what’s possible when great teams, great locations and great guest experiences come together. We’re proud of the strength of our London pubs over the past year, and this investment means we can welcome even more guests while creating meaningful new jobs in Fulham. As we grow in the capital, we remain committed to investing in the pubs, people and communities that make our estate so special.”

The redevelopment follows a standout year for Butcombe Group’s London estate, which saw like-for-like sales growth of 11.6%. The Brown Cow’s strong performance—alongside sister pubs The Punch Bowl in Mayfair, The Fulham Arms in Fulham and The Cross Keys in Chelsea—has reinforced the Group’s confidence in the capital and accelerated targeted investment across key London neighbourhoods.

A previous phase of refurbishment at The Brown Cow led to a sharp rise in demand, making expansion the natural next step.
