Locals want increase in time green space is available to public
Brompton Park
An online petition has been started to increase the hours that Brompton Park is open to the general public.
When the Brompton Park Crescent Development was built in 1984 it was a condition of planning approval that the park remain open to the public.
During the pandemic the park was shut to non-residents. People who live in the area say the park was only reopened in June after they lobbied a local councillor.
Before lockdown the park had opened each day at 9am and closed between 7-8.30pm in the summer and 4-5pm in the winter. These opening hours have now been reduced with the park opening at 10am and closing at 4pm in the winter and between 5 and 6pm in the Summer.
The petition wants the park opening hours restored to what they were before the coronavirus struck.
Over 200 people have signed the petition at the time of writing.
