Fulham House Becomes Bee Hive

Decorating firm helping raise awareness of plight of honey bee

A honey combe mural featuring a giant bee has been painted on the side of a house in Fulham with the aim of raising public awareness of the plight of the honey bee.

The house on Sandilands Road just off Wandsworth Bridge Road has been painted by street artist Paul 'Don' Smith who has been working for over 30 years in London and has received the praise of Banksy for work done previously.

The house belongs to Mike Rogers who runs a local decorating firm which specialises in, amongst other things, murals. Mike told us, "We created the mural to coincide with launching our new website www.portlanddecorating.co.uk which is run by myself and business partner William Scott-Dalgleish.

"When considering what the context of the work would be we decided to  partner up  with the BBKA (British bee keepers association) to help raise awareness for the plight of the UK honey bee. "
