Update: Fulham Road Now Open after 'Hit and Run' on Broadway

Onlookers report seeing motorbike rider speeding off leaving victim in road

Fulham Road has now been reopened with buses returning to their normal routes and traffic flowing well.

Earlier on Thursday evening the road was closed in both directions east of Fulham Broadway and a section of the road cordoned off by police on Thursday evening after a man was reportedly hit by a motorbike opposite the Broadway.

Onlookers reported that the accident was a "hit and run" with the motorbike rider speeding off, leaving the victim lying in the road. He has now been taken to hospital.

The road remained closed for around an hour between Gunter Grove and the Broadway with a line of buses parked east of the accident site and motorists adviced to find alternative routes.

The condition of the victim is not yet known, and a police officer at the scene said they are investigating the incident.
