An appeal for witnesses in the West Kensington area is being made after a car involved in a fatal collision on Edith Road was found dumped in Stanwick Road, W14.

An elderly man has died after being the victim of a hit and run at the junction of Hammersmith Road and Edith Road shortly before 9.27pm on Saturday 4 March

The driver of the car, which was initially reported to be a Mercedes but has now been identified as a silver BMW 5 Series, did not stop at the scene.

The victim was taken to a central London hospital but died during the night. His next of kin have been informed.

Detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.

They would like to speak with anyone who saw the collision, or who saw the car leave the scene.
