Police Appeal for Witnesses to Fatal Collision


80 year-old man died after being hit by car in Imperial Road

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in the south of Fulham on Friday January 13.

Officers were called at approximately 5.20pm on Friday to reports of a man in collision with a car on Imperial Road, close to the junction of Fulmead Road, SW6.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended, and an 80-year old man was taken to St Mary's Hospital in a critical condition with head injuries.

His condition deteriorated and he sadly passed away on Saturday January 14.

Next of kin have been informed and a post mortem examination is scheduled to take place at Fulham Mortuary in due course.

Detectives from the MPS Road Death Investigation Unit are investigating.

Detective Constable Phil Haffenden said: "We understand that the collision happened whilst a pedestrian was crossing the road.

" We are particularly keen to speak to any other road users who were there at the time, who may be able to assist us in understanding the sequence of events."
