Supermarket supports Jack Tizard School
Sainsbury’s store on Townmead Road in Sands End is hosting a day of Halloween fun on Saturday, October 31 from 10am onwards, to help raise funds for its chosen Charity of the Year, Jack Tizard School in Shepherds Bush.
The day will include face painting, designing special spooky gingerbread men and a competition to win a pumpkin carved by a creative member of the staff.
Each branch of Sainsbury's has chosen its own charity to support, and the Townmead Road store picked Jack Tizard, a local day school for pupils aged two -19 with a range of severe learning difficulties, including profound and multiple learning difficulties.
In August, the store held a fund-raising barbecue party as part of celebrations to make the company's 140th annniversary, and as a result, the school received a cheque earlier this month for £1,000.
The money raised by the store will provide children at the school with a special day out. Past days out have included visits to Chessington World of Adventures and Thames Valley Adventure Playground.
Jack Tizard's head Cathy Welsh said: "We are thrilled that Sainsbury's Fulham store have chosen Jack Tizard School as their Charity of the Year, it means a great deal to our students, and we look forward planning some interesting things with the money customers have generously donated."
