Month of Christmas fun begins at the Broadway

Fulham is celebrating in style over the next month, with a brand new Scandinavian market on Eeel Brook Common, Christmas window competitions on Fulham Road and Wandsworth Bridge Road, and much much more.

The fun begins next Friday, November 25 with a lighting up ceremony at Fulham Broadway shopping centre.

Here's a taste of the festivities to come:

Switch on Ceremony at Fulham Broadway - Friday November 25, from 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Live performance from X Factor 2011 Finalist Sami Brookes, Nostalgia Steel Band, Vocalist Shelle Luscombe; carols from Fulham Cross School and London Oratory School plus children’s entertainment, balloon modelling, Santa’s Grotto and much more.

Switch on at 6.pm by the Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham, Cllr Frances Stainton.

Odd Man Out Christmas Competition, Fulham Road - from December 1 - 21.

Can you locate the Odd Man Out?  You could win an impressive hamper of 20+ fantastic prizes donated by local participating businesses.

Odd Man Out is a window shopping competition which requires you to locate small household objects found in participating competition shop windows that you wouldn't find there normally, for instance a tin of baked beans in butchers or a pair of spectacles in a flower shop.

Pick up a competition form from participating Fulham Road businesses or the Durell Arms at 704 Fulham Road, or download if from the council's website. Organised by the Durell Arms, and supported by local Fulham Road businesses donating some great prizes.

Best Dressed Christmas Window and Odd Man Out Competition, Wandsworth Bridge Road, December 1 - 21

Nominate your favourite Wandsworth Bridge Road Christmas window and locate the Odd Man Out. You could win an impressive goodie bag of 20 + fantastic prizes donated by local participating businesses.

Odd Man Out is a window shopping competition which requires you to locate small household objects found in participating competition shop windows that you wouldn't find there normally. for instance a teabag in a DIY shop or a cotton reel in a butchers.

In this competition you must also rank your top five favourite best dressed Christmas window shop displays. Pick up a competition form from participating businesses or Circus Circus at 176 Wandsworth Bridge Road or Harringtons 154 Wandsworth Bridge Road or download it at the council's website. Organised by Circus Circus and Harringtons, and supported by local Wandsworth Bridge Road businesses donating some great prizes

Christmas Market at Eel Brook Common, December 15 - 23, from 11am - 8pm

New this year to Fulham, a traditional Scandinavian Market with food, drink, confectionary, crafts, gifts and entertainment.

Stalls will serve up a range of delicious Scandinavian style treats including roast duck , skewered wild boar & venison. Plus hot dogs served from a polsevogn ("a sausage wagon"), a Swedish bakery, Danish beer, mulled wine, Swedish forest berries, Marabou milk chocolate & more.
