Christmas Celebrations Continue in Fulham


With markets, mulled wine, ice skating and family fun at Stamford Bridge

As the big day draws nearer, Christmas celebrations in Fulham are in full swing, with festive markets and family fun events complete with visits from Santa Claus. Here's what's to come over the next week.

Herald and Heart pop-up market

Hatters Herald & Heart, at 703 Fulham Road is hosting a pop-up Christmas market this weekend, December 17 and 18 from 9.30am till 6pm.

The market is offering a large variety of gifts, treats, mulled wine and bubbly. The array of goodies and Christmas gifts are from:

PAWS & TAILS - luxury bowties and bandanas for pets, beds made out of vintage suitcases and festive toys for your pets.

OTTERLEY & HESTER - vintage jewellery and evening bags.

MORAG MACPHERSON TEXTILES - bespoke kimono robes, silk scarves and limited edition interior accessories.

And the long established Fulham business which used to be on the same site, ARTBEAT will be back one last time to sell goodies including posters and Christmas novelty items.

Fulham's regular markets are also offering Christmas goodies. Parsons Green Farmers' Market will be at Thomas's Academy in New King's Road at usual this Sunday, 18 December from 10am till 2pm and there will also be a special one off mini Christmas market on Friday 23 December from 9am till noon where customers can pick up orders and buy holiday essentials. This will be the last market of the year, but it will be back at its regular time on Sunday 8 January 2017.

Bishops Park Farmers and Fine Food Market is also holding its last market before the Christmas holidays on Sunday 18 December from 10am till 2pm.

Tabletop sales in St John's Churchyard continue this Saturday from 8am till 2pm and next Wednesday, Thursday and Christmas Eve and of course North End Road Market continues daily.

This weekend, from Friday 16 December till Sunday 18, Parsons Green will be home to the fiirst Winter on the Green, a festive event offering something for everyone in the family.

For the kids, there is a a Pop Up Ice Rink, Santa’s Grotto, Funfair, and big screen showing festive films. For the grown ups, there mulled wine, Christmas Market and enjoy the gourmet food.

Winter on the Green has also teamed up with the legendary Sharky & George, who will be bringing the audience to their feet on Friday and Sunday while Big Fish Little Fish will provide the music on Saturday.

Winter on the Green will be open daily this weekend from 10.30am till 5.30pm for families followed by grown up fun from 5pm till 10.30pm and will be raising funds for Cancer Research UK, Fulham Good Neighbours and Help For Heroes.

Day Tickets are priced from £6, a visit to Santa's Grotto will cost £5 and ticket for Sharky & George and Big Fish Little Fish will be from £6.

Reindeer at Chelsea FC Festive Fun Day

Wednesday 21 December is Festive Fun Day at Stamford Bridge this December, with all sorts of fun for children including Christmas animals such as reindeer and penguins, fairground stalls, craft workshops, ice sculpting, competitions and great interactive games to test their talents.

And of course, Santa will be flying in to greet visitors and hear their Christmas wishes.

There is a Christmas workshop at the start of every hour during the event. There are 30 slots available for each workshop and they're completely free.

11am – 25 Slots free
12pm – 26 Slots free
1pm – 27 slots free
2pm – 30 slots free
3pm – 19 slots free

Every one who attends will get to create three great pieces of artwork:

- A 'Santa stop here' sign
- A festive moose
- Wooden tree decorations

The festive fun will take place outside Chelsea Football Club's West Stand from 11am to 4pm on Wednesday and is open to all. And best of all, entry to the event is completely free.
