Chief Executive 'proud' of team who worked round clock treating 13 casualties
13 victims were taken to the hospital on Fulham Road following the attack on 22 May. The next day Lesley Watts, Chief Executive of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, tweeted @LesleyWattsCEO: " All staff you made me #PROUD.Our response to the tragic events yesterday showed we #putpatientsfirst and were unfailingly kind to each other."
The CEO also thanked Prime Minister Theresa May for visiting Chelsea and Westminster on Thursday 23 March, tweeting:
" We thank @theresa_may @Number10gov for coming to @ChelwestFT yesterday to meet patients and staff #WeStandTogether #PROUDtocare."
These tweets were followed by an official statement from Ms Watts, saying: "Following yesterday’s tragic events in Westminster I can confirm that Chelsea and Westminster Hospital received 13 casualties.
"As of today, eight patients have been discharged home with five patients remaining in hospital for treatment.
"I would like to publicly thank our staff and teams who worked round the clock to provide such excellent care and compassion in a very challenging situation—I’m proud of them all.
"No further comment or information about clinical status will be given at this time."
