Chelsea Ladies Head for Wembley Stadium

Facing Notts County in Women's FA Cup Final On Saturday

This Saturday, August 1 and 3pm, Chelsea Ladies are heading for Wembley Stadium to take part in the first Women's FA Cup final.

The team will face Notts County and are aiming to lift silverware for the first time in their history.

The Ladies had an early taste of the Wembley experience on Wednesday when the players and staff took the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the surroundings of the national stadium.

Emma Hayes and her side toured the pitch and spent some time in the home dressing room, having been drawn as the home side for Saturday’s final. Afterwards, the manager explained to the official Chelsea website the importance of the visit as part of the match preparations.

" It’s good for us all to come and get things out of our system before the day of the game," said Emma. " The players get to have a walk around, feel the magnitude of the stadium and have a look at our dressing room.

" We’ll be working and coaching the players to look inward to the pitch on Saturday and not get too affected by the surroundings; look at the beautiful surface, look at the great players on your team and make sure you’re on the winning side."

If you want to go along and support them, tickets for the match can still be purchased online  or by calling 0844 826 2010.

The game is being screened live on BBC 1, and you You can follow updates and behind-the-scenes build-up all week on our official Ladies Twitter @ChelseaLFC.
