Lunchtime Music at Chelsea and Westminster


Free weekly concerts in the hospital atrium

Did you know that there are free weekly lunchtime concerts in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital?

The performances. part of the Hospital Arts Programme, take place each Thursday at 1pm in the ground floor atrium, opposite Lift Bank B and are open to all.

Here's the schedule for the next few weeks:

September 8, 1pm - 1.30pm
Dance Art Foundation

New contemporary dance piece specially created for the ground floor atrium.

September 15, 1pm - 1.45pm
Kiranpal Singh Deoora & Kartar Singh Deeora Asian Music Circuit

Classical Indian santoor recital with tabla accompaniment

September 22, 1pm - 1.45pm
Traditional Cubano Trio

Recital inspired by traditional Cuban music from the 1920s - 40s

September 29, 1pm - 1.45pm
Georgina Whitehead

Solo guitar recital

In addition, Chelsea and Westminster has pianist-in-resident, Alex Vydelingum, who plays every Monday, except for public holidays, from 1pm - 2pm in the ground floor cafe.

The Hospital Arts Programme of Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity aims to help create a healing environment within the hospital, with visual and performing arts combining to help relieve anxiety and assist in recovery.

As well as the weekly concerts, visitors can enjoy an exhibition of papercuts and screenprints by Rob Ryan in the hospita's Rhys Williams Gallery until the end of September.

Tours of the hospital charity's art collection are held on the first Thursday of every month, and can be booked either for individuals or for groups by calling 0208 846 6617.
