Groanbox Come to Brook's Blues Bar

Unique trio play at Parsons Green Sports and Social Club

Brook's Blues Bar, at Parsons Green Sports and Social Club in Broomhouse Lane, welcomes US/Canadian trio Groanbox on Saturday, April 16.

Groanbox - formerly the Groanbox Boys -  are Cory Seznec (guitars – banjos; gourd and open-backed, harmonica and vocals), Michael Ward-Bergeman (accordion, shackles, and vocals), and Paul Clifford (calabash, yew tree, freedom boot, kitchenware, and vocals).

As the choice of instruments indicates, the Groanbox sound is a highly unique blend of blues/roots music, featuring unconventional arrangements bound by tight vocal harmonies sung with raw intensity. Groanbox's latest album Livingston Sessions has received highly favourable reviews.

Admission to the show cost £12 (or £10 for members of the Parsons Green Sports and Social Club) with door to the music room open at 7.30pm. Drinks are served at club prices until midnight and a pre-ordered two course set meal is available for £10.

To book, email info@brooksbluesbar.co.uk  giving your name, how many people will be attending, how many eating, your phone number and time of arrival. You can also phone the club on 020 7736 1401 between noon and 3pm and after 6pm.

Brook's Blues Bar now takes place at the club on the third Saturday of every month.
