April is a busy month in Brompton Cemetery with tours on offer throughout.
Here's what's on offer:
Saturday 7 April, 11am -
Symbolism Tour led by Carole Tyrrell.
Join Carole Tyrrell from the Friends of Brompton Cemetery to explore the hidden meaning behind the symbols at Brompton Cemetery. From Angels to obelisks and urns, you can explore the symbolism of this beaitiful Victorian cemetery.
Free but suggested donation of £5 to help restoration work.
Sunday 8 April, 2pm - Brompton Cemetery Sunday Tour. £8 donation suggested.
Sunday 14 April, 2.30pm - 4pm - Walking with Trees
Brompton Cemetery is home to over 600 trees, reflecting 50 different species. Come and find out about some of our most notable tree treasures, learn about the biodiversity and ecology of trees and the challenges of managing them within a cemetery site. Tuesday 17 April, The Edible Garden Project: Planting Herbs
Learn about the power of herbs, planting bee-friendly herbs at Brompton Cemetery, good for the bees and humans alike! Part of the Edible Garden Project delivered in collaboration with the An Nisa Group and the Triangle Community Garden.

Friday 20 April, 11am - 1pm - The amazing story of Chief Long Wolf at Brompton Cemetery
Come and discover the amazing truth behind the West London gravestone of Chief Long Wolf, renowned Oglala warrior. A tale of life and death… and of coming home. This story is interactive and suitable for children aged five and over.

Sunday 22 April, 11am - 4pm - Catacomb tours every half-hour, start near the Chapel.
The Catacomb Open Day is a unique opportunity to view the underground burial chambers of Brompton Cemetery. Tours led by the Friends of Brompton Cemetery take place every 30 minutes and tickets, priced £5 can be bought on the day.

Wednesday 25 April, 7.30pm - Morbid Curiosities. Queens of Victorian Horror.
Be chilled by the Queens of Victorian horror fiction with our latest theatrical portmanteau of vintage blood-curdlers! This original stage thriller features all-new adaptations of The Yellow Wallpaper, The Old Nurse's Story and John Charrington's Wedding. Allow the ghouls of the nineteenth-century to crawl from their crypts, as we show how the female of the species can be even deadlier than the male...
Sarah Ratheram and Sarah Gordon star in a play written and adapted by Jonathan Goodwin, and directed by Gary Archer.
