Help Create a Wildflower Meadow in Brompton Cemetery

Volunteers invited at Community Planting Day on Wednesday

The Friends of Brompton Cemetery are teaming up with local volunteers to create a wildflower meadow through the cemetery by planting thousands of Daffodils, Winter Aconites and Wood Anemones.

The cemetery, which stretches from Fulham Road to Old Brompton Road is holding two Community Planting Days, this Saturday, 21 October and Wednesday 25 October.

The times are:

Saturday 21 October 10.0 am - 1.00pm
Wednesday 25 October 1.30pm - 4.30pm

Volunteers are asked to meet at the advertised times by North Lodge (Old Brompton Road) where they will collect tools and materials and be introduced to planting locations. They are asked to please dress appropriately for being outdoors.

If you would like to take part, please sign up by emailing: bromptonproject@royalparks.gsi.gov.uk or contacting Halima Khanom PACE Officer on 0207 352 1060 or 07971471606.

Friends of Brompton Cemetery Tours

Volunteers from the Friends of Brompton Cemetery also lead public guided tours of the cemetery on Sunday afternoons, and offer private tours by arrangement during the week.

The public tours are offered every Sunday from May to August, and on two Sundays each month from September to April, with the next this Sunday 22 October, followed by 12 and 26 Novmber.

Tours begin at 2pm from outside of the Chapel, and last about two hours. A donation of at least £6 per person contributes toward the work of the Friends.

The Friends’ noticeboards, near the Old Brompton Road and Fulham Road entrances, display current information about tours, events and other items of interest to Friends and other visitors.
