Brompton Cemetery open day
Summer's strangest day out is here again. Brompton Cemetery's annual Open Day is on Sunday, July 18 from 11am till 5pm, offering variety of introductory and themed tours, plus a rare opportunity to visit the cemetery's catacombs.
There are also many free attractions, including exhibitions and organ recitals in the Chapel, a display of birds of prey, and children's activities (including Victorian hat making), together with stalls, souvenirs, publications and refreshments.
CEMETERY TOURS: Guided tours of the cemetery at 11.30, 12.45, 13.45, 14.30, 15.15 and 16.00, each lasting about 70 minutes; suggested donation £4 per tour.
CATACOMB TOURS: Guided tours of one section of the catacombs at half-hour intervals between 11.00 and 16.30, each lasting about 25 minutes; suggested donation £2 per tour.
