Shoppers allowed to return after Fire Brigade give all clear
Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre has reopened at around 2.45pm on Sunday and shoppers allowed to return.
The centre was evacuated this afternoon, May 31 after a fire alert, but a spokesman confirmed just before 3pm that it had been a false alarm and all was well.
At around 2.15pm, alarms were heard both inside the centre and outside and shoppers were told to leave immediately.
A fire engine arrived within minutes, but people piling out onto the pavement could see no sign of a fire, and inside many others appeared to be ignoring the alarm.
This is the second call-out for the Fire Brigade in Fulham this week. On Friday, firefighters attended a much more serious incident when Tasty's Cafe on the corner of Fulham Road and Fulham High Street caught fire on Friday afternoon.
35 firefighters fought the cafe blaze for over an hour before getting it under control. You can read the full story here.
