Band now go on to National Finals
Fulham's own Brass Band have been crowned champions of the London and Southern Counties region in the 3rd Section.
Competing in a strong field of 14 bands on March 20, Fulham did most to impress with their performance of Percy Fletcher's classic piece, Labour and Love.
Their victory means the band qualifies for the National Championships of Great Britain, held in Harrogate in September, as well as promotion to compete in the 2nd section for the first time in their 115 year history.
In the coming months the band will be aiming to raise money to allow them to compete at Harrogate through concerts and donations from local well wishers. Fulham Brass Band will be reprising their victorious performance of Labour and Love as part of their concert,A Short History of the Brass Band at All Saints Church, Fulham, on the May 7.
The band, which was formed in 1895 and is made up of a group of around 30 musicians will also be at Fulham Football Club on April 3 to entertain the crowds gathering to watch the Boat Race.
