Public asked to register property beforehand on Immobilise
Parks Police are teaming up with officers from local Safer Neighbourhoods Teams to run a free bike marking service on Eel Brook Common from 1pm on June 12.
The officers will be under the pavilion in the north west corner of the common near Novello Street.
Because of the possibility of someone turning up with a stolen bike, police are asking people to register bikes beforehand on Immobilise, the free national property register where almost anything can be registered.
Police say the more property that is registered there the better, because it means that police can more easily trace suspected stolen items back to their rightful owners. As well as bike, people can also add the details of other possessions such as phones, laptops and cameras.
