Busy Weekend at All Saints Fulham

With coffee morning, community fete and choral evensong festival

There is a busy weekend ahead for All Saints Fulham, with a cancer support coffee morning on Friday, the fourth annual community fete on Saturday and a Festival of Choral Evensong on Sunday.

The church is taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning by hosting a Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning at Pryors Bank  from 10am on Friday, September 27. A short service of Morning Prayer will take place beforehand in Church at 9.15am to remember those who have been touched by cancer.

The fourth annual All Saints Fulham Community Fete will take place from 11am -2pm on Saturday 28 September 2013 at All Saints Church Hall.

The line up includes:

• Fun Dog show: From ‘Puppy Love’ to “Waggiest tail” to “Golden Oldie” there will be a class for every kind of dog. The Parks Police will also be on hand to offer free micro-chipping and nail clipping.

• Great food: an indoor café will be serving coffee, teas and cake from 11am and then delicious home-made light lunches. In the garden there will be sizzling hot dogs, popcorn and all sorts of delicious drinks. Last, but by no means least, a mouth-watering cake stall.

• Lots to buy: a car boot sale for all those delightful things you never knew you really wanted, a holiday-reads book stall to keep your bookshelves stocked till Christmas and a huge selection of high-quality nearly-new kiddies clothes, toys & books.

• Kids activities: outdoor games, tombola, lucky dip, nail bar and fake tattoos.

The church says that last year over £6,000 was raised and this year it is aiming to beat that with part of the proceeds going towards two very worthwhile local causes –  Isla's Brighter Future and The Upper Room.

On Sunday September 29 at 6pm the church is hosting a Festival of Choral Evensong bringing together its own choirs along with those of St Martin-in-the-Fields and St Luke's Chelsea to support the churches’ work with the homeless in the capital.

The festival will will be a feast of music blended with stories, readings and prayers designed to heighten awareness and raise funds for some of the most vulnerable people in London.
