Nine days of fun and excitement begin on Saturday

Celebrating Fulham, the annual festival of all that is great in SW6, kicks off this Saturday, June 30, and promises a week of action and excitement right through till Sunday July 8.

Here's what's on offer this weekend:

Children’s story telling and open day at Aspace
Come and listen to celebrated children’s author Priya Desai read her most popular books Jake Monkey Tail and Benjamin
Writer Messy at 11.00 am with more stories from Theatre Bugs at 2.00pm. All day drinks and nibbles for the grown ups with fabulous in store discounts on beds, furniture, storage olutions and room décor at this exclusive children’s furniture store.

Fulham Diamond Jubilee walk
Come and celebrate all things royal (well, things vaguely aristocratic) with a walk round North Fulham. We’ll take
in Three Kings, tennis playing Queens, Margravines, Viscounts and even Dukes of the Nile. Led by Simon Rodway.

History of the village of Walham Green (Fulham broadway)
A talk by Keith Whitehouse, local historian, which covers the history of the area including the church. Illustrated with colour slides and followed by tea and cakes. St John’s Church, North End Road, 3pm. Free, but donations can be made to charity.

Oktoberfest comes to Fulham (also on Saturday 7 July)
Beerfest atmosphere - just like the beer halls in Munich, with all beer directly from Germany. Be
entertained by the legendary brass band ‘Oompah Brass’ who really put on a show and where standing on your chair is actually encouraged! Supported by one of Munich’s finest breweries,Paulaner.
