Annual service aims to help charity's Christmas Appeal reach £25,000

The Brain Tumour Research Campaign’s annual service, A Celebration of Christmas Thursday December 10, from 7.30pm start.

The church was chosen because of its proximity to Charing Cross Hospital, where over 600 patients with brain tumours are diagnosed each year.

Readers this year will include film and TV actress Honor Blackman, the former Mayor of Kensington & Chelsea Christopher Buckmaster, actor Bob Cryer & family, actress/writer Karin Fernald, film, TV and theatre critic
Freddie Fox, former neurosurgeon now best-selling author Henry Marsh, actress Jill Baker and Archers actor Andrew Wincott.

Music will be provided by the choir of All Saints Fulham with a guest performance by the Refuge Temple Gospel Singers.

After the service there will be seasonal "bites and bubbles" – celebrating the joyful season of hope and goodwill, dedicated to raising awareness of the plight of brain tumour patients and funding research at Imperial College London.

" This will be our fifth carol concert," says BTRC co-founder Wendy Fulcher, " and the research we fund is directly focused on finding new treatments and better outcomes for these (and other) patients, for whom the outlook is bleak.

"We hope the concert will help us reach our Christmas Appeal target of £25,000."
