An investigation is underway after a Royal Mail truck pushed a car sideways along the A40 dual carriageway near Perivale.
Pop star Ellie Goulding was in a car on the same stretch of road at the time and witnessed the incident and shared images on Instagram writing: "I'm the one in the car checking if this guy was OK - craziest thing I've ever seen on the road.
"Everyone was driving past but my driver Guy stopped. Driver safe and look out for others everyone!!"
The singer later added: "On a side note, I can't believe the first instinct of the other drivers who got out was to instantly start filming on their phones and shout abuse at the poor shocked driver, not even checking the other driver was OK."
A video of the incident was posted on Twitter. Warning: there is quite a lot of swearing in the clip.
