Giles Coren includes this Chiswick gem in The Saturday Times Magazine
When Giles Coren reviewed Le Vacherin restaurant in Chiswick, his enthusiasm for the eatery was clear.
“the cooking is excellent…the kitchen here lives up to expectations…Le Vacherin is not just a brilliant local restaurant, it is rare enough in its quality of produce, its purity of intention and its enthusiasm to be considered worth travelling to from anywhere in London.” – Giles Coren, 15th January 2005
This was the first review with a new set of criteria by Coren. The restaurants should know more about the provenance of the food they offer and use organic ingredients where possible.
Last Saturday, 23rd September Giles Coren wrote a feature rounding up his top 20 reviews of this type and Le Vacherin was included in this list.
Chef Patron Malcolm John was delighted “We make every effort to use organic ingredients whenever possible and to source the very best meat and fish to ensure that the flavours of our dishes are the best that they can be. I also involve my staff so that they are knowledgeable about our menus. I am so pleased that our efforts are recognised both by our regular customers and the critics.”
