In London Restaurant Awards search for London’s best-value dining rooms
Sam’s Brasserie has made the London Restaurant Awards 2008 shortlist of the capital's best-value dining rooms.
Sam’s is one of the six independent restaurants offering a quality dinner for two for up to £60, including wine, chosen in a special category of the awards by Evening Standard readers.
Sam’s joins Brula in Twickenham, Market in Camden Town, Sitaaray in Covent Garden, The Prince Regent in Herne Hill and Wahaca in Covent Garden.
The winner will be chosen by a panel of food critics, including Fay Maschler and Charles Campion of the Standard. Charles Campion said, “What you're looking for in a restaurant for under £60 is genuine food and a phenomenal atmosphere.
"All of the shortlisted restaurants have gone that little bit further and all have that same thing in common - they offer very good value."
Amanda Biddle, managing director of the London Restaurant Awards, said, "With the current credit crunch, diners are looking for affordable options and the Evening Standard's readers have made a great selection."
Commenting on making the shortlist, Sam Harrison said, "I'd like to say a BIG BIG thank you to all of you that voted for us - without your support we would never have got this far. The rest is now down to the judging panel of food critics - we can only keep our fingers crossed!"
The winner of the Evening Standard award will be revealed at the London Restaurant Awards on 1 September.
