Restaurant hit by fire likely to be closed for four weeks
Pissarro, one of Chiswick's top restaurants, has been damaged by a fire which broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning (17th April).
The riverside establishment at Corney Reach is aiming to open its doors again at the earliest possible moment.
Restaurant manager, Tiffany Rivette, told ChiswickW4.com that no one was hurt during the fire which was caused by a faulty fridge.
One of the owners of the restaurant, Anthony Hallett said, "Pissarro's is progressing well after the fire. The damage caused has been fully surveyed and the likely opening date is estimated to be the beginning of June. We hope to get the place up and running sooner."
Pissarro is consistently ranked as one of Chiswick's top restaurants and even a brief absence is likely to prove a painful experience for regular diners.
Its stunning Thames-side location away from the bustle of the high road affords unexpectedly rural views across to Barnes from the all weather dining conservatory, whilst its close proximity to Chiswick Pier makes Pissarro one of the few London eateries accessible by river or road.
Founded eight years ago, the restaurant remains the ownership of a team of local entrepreneurs who place a high value on their local community and who are incredibly proud of their restaurant’s well earned reputation.
Staunch supporters of local charities and local sporting events, they once again sponsored this year’s 1000 metre Great River Swim in aid of Chiswick Pier Trust and the RNLI. Pissarro’s also generously sponsor their local primary school, Cavendish, and are passionate benefactors of Richmond Rugby Club.
Pissarro is usually open all day with lunch served from 12:00pm to 3:30pm (4:00pm on Sundays) and supper from 7:00pm to 10.30 (9:30pm on Sundays). Booking advisable on 020 8994 3111.
