Old favourite jazzed up
The Old Pack Horse is one of the oldest pubs in Chiswick and certainly one of the most iconic buildings on the High Road.
It has seen its fair share of Managers over the years and has gone through some highs and lows. Recently appointed Christian Evans now has the task of making this a bustling pub for the community again.
Less than a mile from Fullers Head Office, this pub should be representing “Passion and Pride,” a reputation the Fullers business has been built on.
When asked what changes would be made and how he plans to make a success of his new role Evans said:
“I want The Old Pack Horse to become what it used to be, a great traditional friendly pub. We have a real opportunity here to grow a wavering business. The location is superb and the restaurant is popular. Since arriving here in early July, I have recruited new staff that have a real passion for customer service. Our product range is more varied and will continue to develop offering more to our customers. The music profile has changed, candles on tables provide more ambience to the place and the layout of furniture has altered to make for a more social relaxing feel. We have also taken Sky and the TVs out so people can get back to good old fashioned conversation! We are starting a new quiz night from Tuesday 30th August that will become a weekly feature at the pub. The team and I are really looking forward to the Autumn when we can light the fires, serve Mulled wine and create a warm and wonderful atmosphere.”
The first live Jazz function at The Old Pack Horse is on Thursday 25th August starting from 7pm. The event is being sponsored by Sipsmith Independent Spirits who own the first Distillery in London, Hammersmith for over 200 years. Xantone Blacq will be performing with his band. Thai canapés will be passed around to all guests that are there for the evening.
