A new 1920’s prohibition-style bar disguised as an old London pharmacy will open on Devonshire Road later this month. The quirky bar will be on the site of former restaurant Indian Cardamon and the owners hope it has just the right 'medicine' for Chiswick residents.

The bar is being opened by Evans & Peel, who have a 'Detective' Bar in Chelsea. The W4 'Pharmacy' will have a secret entrance fronted by a 1920’s pharmacy sign and will be serving a variety of cocktails, including a 'Penicillin'. American-inspired snacks such as Grilled Cheese Sandwiches will come served in a cigar box with smoke coming out of the side of the box.

Guests will ring the doorbell and be greeted by the 'pharmacist' before they make their way into the secret bar. There will be secret passwords for those in the know; these guests they will be escorted straight into the bar through the pharmacy, as the windows simultaneously black out to preserve its identity.

The venue will be low lit and secluded, with vintage furniture, antique surgical equipment and secret drawers located within the bar.

The cocktail list at Evans & Peel Pharmacy will include cocktails with medicinal names as well as vintage Japanese whiskies, wines and Champagnes as well as regular classic favourites.

From 21st – 27th August anyone who makes a reservation and follows the Evans & Peel Pharmacy Facebook and follows @evansandpeel Instagram will receive 30% off their total bill within a 90 minute appointment.

Guests can get 50% off at the Pharmacy if they visit the Evans & Peel Detective Agency and ask for the Penicillin prescription from the Detective.
