Turnham Green Terrace's tex-mex closes overnight
Famed for their ribs and margaritas, Texas Lone Star closed its doors on Sunday 30th October.
The original franchisee, Mr Curret, who brought Texas Lone Star to London from the states died two years ago leaving his family to take over the business.
Staff were taken by surprise when they were informed by the subsequent franchise operators that no agreement could be reached with regard to rent for the premises and therefore both the Chiswick and Gloucester Road branches were to be closed - that night.
The Chiswick branch of Texas Lone Star opened on 5th November 1989 and was run by the enigmatic Carlos Machado.
Francisco Da Silva took over as manager a year later and remained in the role until he was told, by telephone, that there was no longer a restaurant to run.
The lease of the premises, which also includes a two bedroom flat and an office, is on the market for £1.3million and has already had plenty of interest.
The three highest offers received by 2nd December 2005 will be considered.
