A new Italian microbrewery has taken over in Devonshire Road
Popular watering hole Pickwicks in Devonshire Road has closed after many years.
An Italian microbrewery has taken over the premises and will sell its award-winning beers imported from Parma.
The company, Ducato Microbrewery was set up in 2007 and has won several awards in Italy. It exports about 15% of its beers overseas.
The premises are being refurbished completely. It is expected to open in December.
The Italian company has already showcased its beers earlier this year at the Devonshire Road street party.
It is expected to serve Italian style 'tapas' of ham and cheeses, as well as a variety of beers and lagers.
Pickwicks was a favourite spot for locals and had live music on Fridays- Chris de Burgh once popped in for a drink and ended up entertaining customers.
