Chiswick Park station was closed this Thursday morning (11 October) after a person died after being hit by a train.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said, "Officers were called to Chiswick Park Underground station at 8.55am today after reports of a person being struck a train.

"Colleagues from the London Ambulance Service also attended, however, a person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers are working to identify the person and inform their family. This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious."

Transport for London say that the station has been closed following a 'person on the track.'

An air ambulance could be seen arriving close to the station from Sainsbury’s car park.

The helicopter eventually landed on the western corner of Acton Green. It took off again shortly before 10am.

The District (Turnham Green to Ealing Broadway) and Piccadilly (Hammersmith to Acton Town westbound only) lines are part suspended, with severe delays on the rest of the line.
