A teacher at Chiswick School has left the staff, after he was filmed kissing a former pupil.

It is understood that the incident took place at a social event in a local pub which was attended by Sixth Form students from the school as well as some past students of the school.

The girl involved was over 18 and it is not believed that any criminal charges are being considered. The event was not organised by the school and did not take place on school premises.

The school say the incident has been dealt with ‘very seriously’ and the relevant referrals have been made and procedures followed. He was suspended immediately following the incident and made the decision to resign before the school handed him notice.

The teacher has been named on social media as David Schramm.

He left the school with immediate effect.

In a letter to parents sent out on earlier this week the school’s Headteacher Laura Ellener said there were ‘no excuses’. Ms Ellener only took up the position in January of this year.

She said that she requires habit change and a relentless focus on behaviour adding, “These standards also apply to our staff; the way they present themselves, the language they use, and the way they interact with others. I understand that this has not always been the case in the past and this is the beginning of a new era. I would like the community to be confident that I will not tolerate members of my team letting down the incredible children and parents at Chiswick School."
