Victor
can't believe Sven double
Victor Meldrew's legendary catchphrase "I don't believe it!" was on the tip of actor Richard Wilson's tongue when he came face to face with a Sven Goran Eriksson look-alike at the London Pride Walk this Sunday. The six-mile route starts and finishes at the Griffin Brewery in Chiswick. David Jefferson's uncanny resemblance to the England football manager has earned him a BBC TV appearance during coverage of the recent FA Cup Final and even a booking at Madame Tussauds. He joined Richard Wilson in officially starting the Fuller's London Pride Walk which aims to raise £120,000 for Cancer Research UK's special appeal, Help Hammer Cancer, at Hammersmith Hospital. Richard Wilson commented: "I'm delighted to be taking part in the event and supporting such a fantastic cause." Fuller's has supported the Help Hammer Cancer Appeal for 13 years and has been involved in the walk since 1996. Every year, Fuller's 'beer-drinking' shire horse, Pride, joins the walkers. Around 2,000 people attended the event. Among the walkers were Clive Soley MP and Sky TV's Dream Team actor Shaun Scott who plays Patrick Doyle in the hit series. Help Hammer Cancer supports gene therapy cancer research at Hammersmith Hospital. For more information on the work of Cancer Research UK, please visit: www.cancerresearchuk.org June 11, 2003
