Details emerging of two major developments near Gillette Corner
Potential New Tesco development on Homebase
Move information has emerged about development plans on two major sites in the Brentford area.
It now appears that over 2,000 more flats are planned for the Homebase and Tesco Osterley sites near Gillette Corner.
St Edward Homes recently held public consultations on the future of the two locations.
The proposal is to build a new Tesco store on the Homebase site, taking around 3 years and then develop the current Tesco site which will take a further 8 years. This allows a superstore to be open throught the construction.
The new Tesco store will be of similar size to the existing and have two floors of car parking above it, with spaces reduced from 625 to 400. Cars will enter from Syon Lane. The petrol station will not be replaced.
There will be 500 new homes with 125 residential parking spaces and 1 acre of green space on top. The building heights would range from 9-16 storeys.
There will be a cafe in the store and a community space on the first floor overlooking the junction.

The proposals for the current Tesco site are a lot less developed but some 1,650 flats will be provided of which 35% could be affordable.

There will also be a consultation centre in the Tesco car park on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
