A large number of police officers descended on Isleworth station this Monday afternoon (17 December) after a firearm was discharged.

The police believe that there was an altercation between two groups of men outside the station. Some of them were on foot and some on bikes. When one group were leaving it is believed that shots were fired in their direction at around 2.45pm.

The area was cordoned off after the report and trains did not stop at the station for several hours.

A spokesman for the Met said, “Police were called at 2.54pm on Monday to a report of shots fired towards a vehicle near Isleworth railway station in London Road, Isleworth.

“No one is believed to have been injured.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries continue to establish the circumstances.”

A tweet by the Met shows a picture of a police dog at the station next to a knife on the floor.

DI Darren Gough of British Transport Police said,"I’d like to appeal to drivers who were in the vicinity of Isleworth station before and after this time to check their dash cams as soon as possible.

"If you believe you have footage which may have captured these men, please come forward and help us with this investigation.

"I would also like to reassure the public that we believe this to be an isolated incident, and that we are doing all that we can to find the perpetrators."
