Large parts of W3 lose electricity for second time within a month

There has been another loss of electricity supply across a significant part of Acton this Wednesday morning (17 October).

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) say on their web site, “We apologise for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed. Our engineers are on site working to get the power back on as quickly as they can. If you need more information, please call us on 0800 072 7282 and quote reference 'EU7724'.”

There are also reports of intermittent power outages in the north of Chiswick.

The latest interruption of supply comes just three weeks after a similar incident on 27 September which affected 1,151 properties in Meon Road, Newton Avenue, Acton Lane, Leythe Road and surrounding areas in Acton.

At that time some residents claimed that power cuts in the area have become much more common in and this is due to under investment in local infrastructure and rising demand due to increased use of electronic devices. We put this to SSEN who said they would investigate the claims and come back to us after they spoke to their local teams but they have yet to do so.
