Police seeking small white van with blue lines on side
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal fail-to-stop collision in Acton.
They were called to North Acton Rd at approximately 16.55 today (18.11.04) to reports of a road traffic collision.
A female pedestrian, believed to be in her 40s, was crossing a pedestrian crossing when she was in collision with a van.
She was taken by ambulance to Central Middlesex Hospital but was pronounced dead at approximately 17.35. Police are in the process of tracing next of kin. Formal identification has yet to take place.
The driver of the van, described as small and white with blue lines on the side, failed to stop at the scene, driving off towards Acton. Anyone with information is asked to contact Alperton Traffic Garage on 020 8998 5319 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The whole of North Acton Rd is currently closed. (19.45)
