Calling them 'missed opportunity' and 'retrograde step'
Latest plans to redevelop the Oaks shopping centre are simply not good enough says the Ealing Central and Acton MP.
Angie Bray has criticised developers, Acton Regeneration Company, along with Ealing Council planners whom she fears are trying to push through proposals not suitable for the area.
She says the scheme, to build 142 new homes (which includes a nine-storey block) along with a basement supermarket does not deliver on regeneration and claims it's a ' missed opportunity' to really improve Acton.
Ms Bray has outlined concerns about the tower block which she says will be a 'blight' on the landscape, along with fears about light deprivation in the area - many buildings will be 'cast into darkness' she says.
The Conservative MP says Ealing Council doesn't appear to be listening to geniune concerns of residents who she fears have 'not been given the time of day'.

Ealing Council do not comment on the merit of planning applications.
However a spokesperson said:'' In response to requests from residents, the council further extended the consultation period for the revised plans. Feedback is currently be evaluated, yet comments on the plans will still be accepted right up until the planning committee meeting. The next date possible for the plans to be assessed by the committee is 16 October, however this has not yet been confirmed.''
A Facebook page has been set up and alternative proposals for the site suggested by a local architect here.
