Thames 21, the independent charity dedicated to improving London’s rivers and canals, is inviting hardy Fulham folk to don their wellies and join a sunset walk along the Thames foreshore on Tuesday, 26 September.

The walk will begin at Philpot Square, on Carnwath Road opposite Thames Tideway’s project office, at 6pm and the charity says, “ We will be setting off at 18:15pm so don’t be late!

“The walk will be casual and slow-paced allowing everyone to take in the river space around them.

“This is a great opportunity to find your local access point to the River Thames, explore the foreshore, and make new friends. Everyone is welcome.”

Thames 21 does warn however that the foreshore is very muddy, so walkers should wear appropriate footwear - either wellies or sturdy boots.

The walk is free to join but those wishing to join are asked to book in advance here.

The charity says around 7,000 volunteers every year take part in walks, clean-ups and other events around our rivers and canals. You can find our more about its work on its website.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.
